Weekly Classes: This multi award winning instructor offers choreography and technique based belly dance classes for students of all levels. Her classes are a lot of fun and often include belly dance games while providing a well-rounded education. In class you will develop the basic skills necessary to build the strength, posture, muscle awareness, and mind-body connection to learn the art of belly dancing! You will learn foundational movements that include proper body isolations, basic steps, turns, shimmies, arm positions, rhythm and timing, and an introduction to veil and zills (finger cymbals)!
Higher level students learn more advanced layering, steps, combinations, choreography, floorwork, drum solos, and techniques to know how to put all these beautiful movements together so that you can create your own dance story.
In addition, higher level students also have the opportunity to learn prop work to include isis wings, asaya "aka cane," goblets, fan veils and even balancing props like candle tray and sword balancing! If you are really daring she even offers training in fire props like wands, fire eating, fire palms, fire sword, and even fire fans!
Private Lessons
I am passionate about teaching those who want to learn the art of belly dance. Yes, belly dance classes Chicago is a great way to lose weight and tone up but there is so much more to it. I love working with students one on one and watch as they learn and grow with each new goal we set and achieve. We will assess your current needs and goals and, like a personal trainer for your dance, each week you will get "homework" that will keep you accountable to yourself and on track to achieve your vision.
You may be wondering why I encourage private classes so strongly? Because, I really love training students and serious dancers and help them in achieving their goals. In my experience, those visions are best achieved thru personalized one on one training, like private lessons.
