Atéa is the star and producer of the Magical Motion™ video/DVD collection, an international bestselling belly dance instruction series. She’s widely recognized as an expert in classic and modern belly dancing styles. A pioneer in belly dance video instruction, Atéa developed innovative teaching methods that are used by dance teachers, video producers, and choreographers worldwide.

Her formal dance training includes the study of modern dance and creative movement at the University of Wisconsin - Milwaukee. She studied Middle Eastern dance with local instructors and traveled the U.S. to take workshops and classes with many internationally renowned belly dance experts. Choosing the art of bellydance as her career, she founded successful dance studios, first in Milwaukee, and later in San Diego and Los Angeles.

Atéa is a sought-after bellydance instructor and has taught bellydancing to Hollywood celebrities, Middle Eastern royalty, and thousands of women of all walks of life. She’s well known for developing instruction that presents the traditions of authentic bellydance in a contemporary and easy-to-understand format.

To promote a better understanding of the history and holistic health benefits of bellydancing, Atéa has spoken frequently in public forums and on radio. She’s been featured in magazines and newspapers around the U.S. and Europe and is also a published writer.

An experienced performance artist, Atéa has bellydanced in many venues including nightclubs, concert halls, art centers, and universities. She produced and hosted two belly dance cable television series in Los Angeles and has bellydanced on numerous television programs in America and abroad.

Atéa is currently based in the Los Angeles area where she continues to teach bellydance in Claremont, CA, and to promote its’ benefits for mind, body, and spirit.
