Cris! Basimah is an award-winning belly dancer, teacher and choreographer from Santa Barbara, California. She is specialized in dance styles of the Middle East such as Raqs sharqi, folk dance and Latin cultures.
Cris! Basimah is the principal soloist and Dance Assistant Director for the University of California, Santa Barbara (UCSB) Middle East Ensemble. She teaches beginner and intermediate belly dance classes at the Gustafson Dance Studio and performs regularly at Santa Barbara's Middle Eastern restaurant Zaytoon. Cris! can also be booked for corporate and private parties, festivals and corporate wellness seminars.
BELLY DANCE INSTRUCTION:
Cris! offers beginner bellydance classes geated toward students who have never taken belly dance before to ones with less than 2 years of experience.
Intermediate classes require previous experience with veil, drum solo, taqsim and finger cymbals. The class focuses on advancing and perfecting technical and performance skills.
