JENZA
Bellydancer & Teacher in Newhall and Chatsworth
818-451- 3243 or jenza@jenza.com, www.jenza.com
JENZA has been dancing for 36 years and teaching for 33. She is the second generation of a 3-generation Belly Dance family (Mom Samira and daughter Elayssa). She is one of the "old school" belly dancers who will teach you to dance from the heart. Jenza will show you the basics and beyond using her own special technique embodying emotional expression using breath, posture and gesture. Jenza teaches American Cabaret, Turkish Cabaret, passionate Gypsy Skirt dancing, and Fusion styles. Finger cymbals, veils, props (candle, sword & tray), and old style movements from the 1970's including the belly roll are covered in her classes. Her beginning and intermediate classes can be found in Newhall and Chatsworth. Jenza produces local events, and makes beautiful costumes for sale.
Jenza began her journey with belly dance in 1975 following in the foot steps of her mother, Samira , a widely known dancer and talented costumer. Samira sold handmade costumes under the name "Samira CostumeMaker " beginning in the 1970/80's.
Jenza became a popular dancer and sought-after workshop teacher both in California, the Midwest, and internationally in New Zealand. Jenza danced in almost every restaurant or cabaret in the Los Angeles , Orange, and San Diego counties of California spanning the late 70's into the early 90's.
Jenza's daughter, Elayssa, grew up back stage absorbing the dance culture, and became a professional dancer in her own right at the age of 16. Elayssa, now 31, makes her mom proud with her innovative theatrical solo's and troupe productions as "Elysium Dance Theatre's" director and choreographer.
Jenza's classes are known as one of the most fun and lively around. Jenza dances with a joyous energy and emotional presence that is a rare treat. In addition to her many classes and local events, she now partners with her mother, Samira in producing one of the most stunning gypsy skirts in the business. |

Belly Dancer
Sketch Cards:
Some of you may be aware that I have been doing lots of Art and Art related projects over the past few years. In fact, I now sign my name Penny Lee StewArt!
I recently painted 25 sketch cards of belly dancers, 2.5 x 3.5 inches in size. They are very collectible and make great gifts.
Please visit my Daily Paint Works Gallery if you are interested in purchasing. Thanks.
