From her extensive background in classical dance forms, Leela brings FUN and EXCITEMENT to her popular teaching style, delighting her students with her contagious enthusiasm and playfulness. Leela's teaching deeply engages each dancer in both her own individual experience and the shared magic of the group as well. Classes focus on TECHNIQUE with excellent, easy breakdowns; veil, zils, combinations and choreography, and improvisational creativity. COME PLAY! Classes held in Glendale/Montrose/La Crescenta/La Cañada area.

ALL of Leela's students are invited to perform with her onstage! There are no 'auditions' or 'cuts'; all levels of dance ability are welcomed and encouraged. Participation in performances fosters empowerment of the students, which in turn creates opportunities in their daily lives to express their creativity more freely and successfully. LEELA'S Annual 'Arabia Exotica' Shows; Bellydance Fantasy Theater of the Sacred and Profane! Every autumn since 2001, Leela has created an amazing, diverse theatrical presentation called 'Arabia Exotica', with a different theme each year. Hundreds of performers from all sorts of exotic dance cultures, live musicians, circus and aerial acts, giant video projections, fire spinners, martial artists, burlesque queens and, of course, the very finest in Bellydancers come together to create an unforgettable evening of ABSOLUTE MAGIC! Each event concludes with a World-Beat Dance Party for the audience and performers to shimmy away the evening together!
