Raquel has enjoyed a lifetime of dance experience. Her dance background includes ballet, jazz, lyrical jazz and bellydance. She has studied ballet for over 20 years, jazz dance for over 10 and bellydance for 5 years. Her studies were with the Utah Ballet Academy, Cerritos College, California State University as well as local dance studios in Downey.

She has also studied with top bellydance instructors from all over the world including Jillina, Fahtiem, Tonya Chianis, Amir Thaleb, Raqia Hassoun, Suhalia and Aida Nour. She continues to take workshops and classes to stay current and further develop her technique.

Since pursuing her newfound love affair with Bellydance, Raquel has performed at weddings, local fairs and carnivals as well as several Middle Eastern establishments in Southern California.

Raquel’s love of dance extends to her love to teach and what began as teaching in the backyard of her aunt’s house has grown into several classes. As a dance teacher Raquel brings a positive attitude, poise and fun to the classroom. She draws upon a natural understanding of movement from her background in ballet and jazz as a child and teenager. Currently, she is based out of Los Angeles and offers weekly on going dance classes in Downey, Whittier, Commerce and La Habra. She also offers private classes, group and solo choreographies and is available for workshops. Coming soon adult ballet for bellydancers. BELLYDANCE CLASSES:
Raquel offers weekly group classes in 5 week sessions with an opportunity to join a performance troupe. She is also available for private and semi-private instruction by appointment.
