Shahira
(Shannon Griffiths), started taking Belly Dance classes in 1975. Since then she
has performed at various restaurants, special events, and private parties throughout
Southern California. She has also been a member of MECDA for over twenty years.
She started teaching the dance in 1985 for the City of Claremont. She has since
expanded her classes to many neighboring cities. She also has a dance supply business,
Shahira's Trinkets and Treasures, and is a vendor at many of the dance events
in the Southern California area. In her "spare time" she likes to dabble in art,
